The Rise of Hybrid Wrestling and the Decline of Human Promotions in SL

Today's blog on the Bombshell Insider dives into a question that's been on the minds of many: Why is there such a recent decline in human wrestling promotions on Second Life?

Over the past five years, we’ve witnessed the rise of Furry and Hybrid wrestling promotions, from the iconic Honor Pro Wrestling to newer names like FPW and Limitless Pro Wrestling. These promotions are bringing something fresh and fierce to the table, blending creativity, unique match styles, and unforgettable in-ring techniques. The characters, often a blur between human and animal, have added an extra layer of excitement that’s hard to ignore.

But what about the human wrestling scene? Sure, we still have the powerhouses like Virtual Wrestling Entertainment (VWE), Women’s Pro Wrestling Federation (WPWF), and Over the Edge Wrestling (OEW) holding it down, but there’s been a noticeable drop in the success of new human-centric wrestling promotions.

So, why have so many former human wrestlers made the crossover to these Hybrid promotions? Is it the creativity, the freedom to push boundaries, or something else entirely? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!

In the meantime, we’re getting ready to make room for a new breed of Bombshells!
