Breaking the Mold: The Rise and Reign of Virtual Wrestling's Bombshells

Welcome back to The Bombshell Insider! This time, we're diving into a topic that’s not just close to my heart but also resonates with many fans: the incredible women of virtual wrestling.

Just last month, Becky from VWE made headlines across the grid by cashing in her “Queen of the Arena” briefcase. In a thrilling TLC match, she took on Yukitoma Ryouko, Danni, and Kasumi Hayata, emerging victorious as the NEW VWE Women’s Champion. This victory adds to her impressive resume, including her previous reigns as VWE Women’s National Champion and VWE Radiance Champion. The match was a nail-biter, and it’s no surprise that it had the crowd on the edge of their seats!

Becky is a major draw in the VWE, but her success is part of a larger trend. Across the grid, women's wrestling is rising, matching and often surpassing the excitement of the men’s division. With women like Kandy Perez & Gina Rose(PW), Solidad & Carmelita(WPWF), Tracy Strolling & Legendary Maxine(Honor Pro)and how could we leave out Krystal, Angel Cole, & we can’t forget the iconic Club Aphrodite(VWE), gone are the days when people doubted the appeal of women's wrestling. Today, the Bombshells are a main attraction, commanding their own storylines and delivering must-see matches.

But let’s not forget the other talented women who play crucial roles behind the scenes, as on-screen personalities and managers. Women that have helped shaped their male counterparts such as Jasmine Tryce, Fyre Ember, and even Gorgeous Jessie. These bombshells are just as talented and popular, waiting for their moment to step into the spotlight and develop their characters further.

This brings us to an important question: What exactly defines a “Bombshell”? While some may conjure up images of a stereotypical blonde model, the reality is far more diverse and empowering. Being a bombshell is about more than just looks—it's a mentality, a way of life. It’s a movement that shows you can be tough and strong while embracing femininity and beauty.

SL Wrestling has had a complicated history with women, often tainted by issues like slut-shaming and exploitation. Despite these challenges, the legacy of women's wrestling is rich and enduring. As we approach the end of 2024, it's clear that the scene is evolving in a positive direction.

So, where do we go from here? There’s a strong case to be made that women's wrestling is more popular than ever, with matches becoming increasingly entertaining, creative, and visually captivating. On the other hand, some argue that the past had its own share of legendary Bombshells who set the standard high.

Whatever your stance, it’s undeniable that women have made a monumental impact on SL wrestling. They deserve every bit of recognition for their contributions, and as fans, we should celebrate their achievements and continue supporting their journey.
